RS 33:1229 - Convening police jury when office of president is vacant When the police jury has elected a vice-president pursuant to its authority under R.S. 33:1226, the vice-president may convene the police jury whenever the president is absent or unable to serve for any reason. Under such circumstances, the vice-president may convene the police jury in the same manner and for the reasons that the president could himself do. If the police jury has not elected a vice-president under R.S. 33:1226, the clerk of the district court of the parish may convene the police jury whenever there is a vacancy in the office of president, in the same manner and for the reasons that the president could himself do. Amended by Acts 1963, No. 53, §1.
