RS 33:1235 - Penalty for failure to perform duties If the president of a police jury fails to perform any of the duties imposed on him by law, without reasonable excuse, he shall forfeit the sum of twenty-five dollars for each failure, to be recovered before any court of competent jurisdiction by motion of the parish attorney, after three days notice; and if any member of the police jury fails to attend any meeting, after being duly notified, or without notice if at a regular session, such member, if he has no reasonable excuse, shall forfeit the sum of ten dollars, to be recovered as above. Such forfeitures shall be paid into the parish treasury.
