RS 33:130.361 - Beauregard Parish Economic and Industrial Development District A. There is hereby created a body politic and corporate of the state which shall exist in perpetuity and be known as the Beauregard Parish Economic and Industrial Development District, hereinafter referred to as the 'district'. The district shall comprise all of the territory located within the parish of Beauregard. The district shall be a political subdivision of the state as defined in Article VI, Section 44(2) of the Constitution of Louisiana. Pursuant to Article VI, Sections 19 and 20 of the Constitution of Louisiana, the district, acting through its board of commissioners, the governing authority of the district, is hereby granted all of the rights, powers, privileges, and immunities accorded by law and the Constitution of Louisiana to political subdivisions of the state, except the power of taxation. B. The primary purpose of the district shall be to stimulate and encourage the development of an industrial park for economic development through commerce and industry, to use and develop natural and human resources of the area, and to provide job opportunities.
