RS 33:1941 - Medal for member of police or fire department Any member of a police or fire department who, in the regular performance of his duty, renders some act of valor, or any act conducive to the betterment and credit of the department of which he is a member, shall be awarded a gold medal of honor, properly inscribed, to be presented by the board created by this Part.
