RS 33:1942 - Board authorized to award medal The board shall consist of the mayor and the heads of the police and fire departments, who shall sit in session whenever such deeds of valor, or acts conducive to the betterment and credit of the department are brought to their attention by anyone; the board is vested with full discretion in the matter of the award of gold medals, after a full investigation of all matters covered by the purposes of this Part.
