RS 33:195 - Publication of ordinance An ordinance calling a consolidation election shall be published once a week in each of three consecutive weeks in the official journal of the municipality, or if there be none, in a newspaper of general circulation in the municipality, the first publication to be at least twenty-one days prior to the date fixed for the election. In the event that there is no official journal or newspaper of general circulation in the municipality, publication shall be made by posting copies of the election ordinance in three public and conspicuous places in the municipality at least twenty-one days prior to the date set for the election.
