RS 33:1994.1 - Maximum consecutive hours of work; minimum consecutive hours off duty thereafter Except in the case of a bona fide emergency, such as a hurricane, other natural disaster, or terrorist attack, no fireman as defined in R.S. 33:1991(A) shall be required to be on duty with a municipal fire department, parish fire department, or fire protection district for more than seventy-two consecutive hours. Any fireman who has been on duty for seventy-two consecutive hours shall be entitled to be off duty for a minimum of twenty-four hours before being required to return to duty. Acts 2008, No. 329, §1.
