RS 33:2043 - Authority to insure volunteer firemen The governing authority of any municipal corporation may expend out of its public funds the necessary amount to secure insurance or compensation for volunteer firemen killed or injured, while going to, returning from, or attending fires in the municipality or territory adjacent thereto.
