RS 33:3935 - Officers of board of sewerage commissioners; collection of taxes The board shall, at its first meeting, elect from among its members a president, a vice president, secretary and treasurer, and may in its discretion elect the same person to the office of secretary and treasurer. The board shall, by ordinance, define the powers and duties of the secretary and treasurer. The treasurer shall give a good and solvent bond payable to the president of the district, in the sum fixed by the board conditioned for the faithful performance of his duties. The board in its discretion may select persons not members to fill the offices of secretary and treasurer. The city attorney shall be ex-officio attorney for the board. The tax collector of the municipality shall be ex-officio tax collector of the same and shall collect the taxes due the district in the same manner provided for the collection of other special taxes. The tax collector of the district shall be ex-officio assessor for the same and shall prepare the tax roll of the same by preparing and copying it from the assessments and rolls used by the state for the collection of taxes on the property within the district.
