RS 33:3952 - Petition for construction of sewerage system Whenever more than sixty per cent of the owners of the lineal frontage of real estate abutting on any street or portion thereof not less than one block long, or of a district composed of one or more streets, highways, or alleys, by petition signed by the owners and addressed to the governing authority of the municipality, ask for the installation, construction, and equipment of sewers and sewerage disposal works for the purpose of serving the district, the governing authority may proceed as provided in the following Section.
