RS 33:423.18 - Town of Livingston; disciplinary action by chief of police Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S. 33:423 or any other law to the contrary, in and for the town of Livingston, the chief of police may take whatever steps are necessary to effect disciplinary action concerning police personnel, including but not limited to the suspension of police personnel with or without pay, for a maximum of five days per each incident. The chief of police shall obtain the approval of the mayor and the board of aldermen for any suspension without pay for longer than five days. In addition, the chief of police shall obtain the approval of the mayor and the board of aldermen prior to terminating any police officer. Any such disciplinary action shall be taken without regard to race, creed, or color. Acts 2006, No. 760, §1, eff. June 30, 2006.
