RS 33:423.19 - City of Ponchatoula; authority over personnel by elected chief of police; budgetary limitations A. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, in and for the city of Ponchatoula, the elected chief of police shall appoint, promote, discipline, and discharge police personnel subject to the budgetary limitations of the mayor and the board of aldermen pertaining to the number of allotted positions for the police department. Any such action shall be taken without regard to race, creed, or color. B. The provisions of this Section shall be known as the Police Chief David Lane Vitter Act. Acts 2008, No. 76, §1, eff.
