RS 33:4553 - Supervision of recreation facilities and programs The governing body may establish a system of supervised recreation, and it may, by resolution or ordinance, maintain and conduct the playgrounds, recreation centers, and other recreation facilities and activities through the school board, park board, or other existing body, or through a playground and recreation board. Any board so designated may maintain and equip playgrounds and recreation centers, and may employ recreation officers and employees.
