RS 33:4559 - Municipalities of 100,000 or more authorized to acquire and operate opera houses or dramatic halls Any municipality having a population of one hundred thousand or more, may build or acquire, furnish, equip, own, operate and regulate the use of municipal opera houses or dramatic halls and finance them out of its general funds or out of funds specially provided therefor by the sale of bonds issued in the manner provided by law for meeting the cost of public buildings or other public improvements, and establish charges for the use thereof.
