RS 33:4813 - Removal of remains of dead by police jury The ordinance shall provide that, if the remains are not removed within forty days, or within such longer time as the ordinance may allow, after the first publication of the adoption of the ordinance in the official journal, the police jury shall have the right to remove the remains. The ordinance may also provide that the cost of removal shall be at the expense of the parish or at the expense of the record owner of the property in which the bodies are interred.
