RS 33:4871 - Authority to provide parking meters Municipalities may provide by ordinance for the installation, operation, maintenance, policing and supervision of parking meters on their streets as an aid to the regulation and control of parking of vehicles therein, and may fix and require the payment of a fee for the privilege of parking opposite the meters when they are in operation.
