RS 33:7805 - Vacancies; officers, agents, and employees; compensation A. The members of the board shall serve at the pleasure of the appointing body. A vacancy occurring in the membership of the board shall be filled by appointment in the same manner as the original appointment. Members shall continue to serve until their successors have been appointed and have taken their oaths of office and filed the same in accordance with law. B. The board may establish and provide for other officers, agents, and employees as it may deem necessary and appropriate for the accomplishment of its object and purpose, and define and fix the duties, terms, and compensation thereof. However, the compensation of the secretary-treasurer of the board shall be limited to a per diem and travel allowance not to exceed the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars per month. If the secretary-treasurer is also a member of the board, he shall receive the compensation specified for a board member in Subsection C of this Section in lieu of his compensation as secretary-treasurer. C. Each member of the board shall be entitled to receive a per diem and travel allowance not to exceed the sum of two hundred and fifty his Section in lieu of his compensation as secretary-treasurer.
