RS 33:9039.71 - Taxation The district may request the council of the city of New Orleans to exercise the power of taxation, including the levy of ad valorem taxes on behalf of the district, provided the levy thereof is approved by the majority of qualified electors residing and voting in the parish of Orleans pursuant to an election called under the Louisiana Election Code for such purpose, and provided further that the amount, term, and purpose of said tax is set out in the proposition submitted to the voters.
