RS 34:1051 - Acting as a pilot without a commission; penalty A person who is not a commissioned New Orleans and Baton Rouge steamship pilot shall not board any ship or vessel required to pay charges for such a pilot, for the purpose of piloting, or to pilot or attempt to pilot the same. Whoever violates the provisions of this Section shall be fined not less than one thousand five hundred dollars nor more than five thousand dollars or may be imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.
