RS 38:1573 - Effect of transfer The effect of any transfer, when completed and accepted from a drainage district to a municipality, of the canals, works and other property of the drainage district, shall be to vest in the municipality, full and complete control, for any and all public uses of all canals, works, and other property thus transferred, the title thereof to remain in the public. The governing authorities of the municipality shall have full and complete control thereof for the public and may, thereafter, use the canals, works and property for drainage purposes, navigation purposes, or for both, or for any other use which the needs of the public may dictate.
