RS 38:1844 - Powers of board The board of commissioners may open all natural drains in the district, cut and open new drains, and do any other work of drainage they may deem necessary. They may enter into contracts for the construction of drainage work or they may construct drainage works under their own supervision, or with the aid and assistance of any governmental or state agency. They may employ an engineer and an attorney and fix their respective fees and provide for the payment thereof. They may do any and all things necessary and incidental to carry out the purposes of this Part.
