RS 38:1868 - Powers of election officials; offenses in connection with elections The commissioners and clerks of elections held under the provisions of this Part shall have the powers and duties in conducting the election, and in preserving order at the polls, as are conferred and imposed upon similar officers under the general election laws of this state. Whatever is declared in the general election laws to be a felony, other crime or misdemeanor, shall be such for any election held under the provisions of this Part and shall be punished in the same manner.
