RS 38:3087.263 - Corporate status The district shall constitute a body corporate in law and shall be a political subdivision of the state. The district shall have perpetual existence and may incur debt and contract obligations, sue and be sued, have a corporate seal, and perform any and all acts in its corporate capacity and in its corporate name which are necessary and proper for effectuating the purposes and objects for which it is created.
