RS 39:100.261 - Louisiana Equine Promotion and Research Fund A. There is hereby created, as a special fund in the state treasury, the Louisiana Equine Promotion and Research Fund, hereafter referred to in this Section as the 'fund'. B.(1) After compliance with the requirements of Article VII, Section 9(B) of the Constitution of Louisiana, the fund shall consist of monies deposited into the fund pursuant to the requirements of R.S. 27:625(G)(7) and any other monies appropriated or transferred by the legislature. The state treasurer shall deposit into the fund all donations, gifts, and grants received by the state for the Louisiana Equine Promotion and Research Program as well as any other monies which may be provided for the program by law. (2) Monies in the fund shall be invested by the treasurer in the same manner as monies in the state general fund, and interest earned on investment of the monies shall be credited to the fund. All unexpended and unencumbered monies in the fund at the end of the fiscal year shall remain in the fund. C. Monies in the fund shall be appropriated to the Department of Agriculture and Forestry for the Louisiana Equine Promotion and Research Program in e end of the fiscal year shall remain in the fund. C. Monies in the fund shall be appropriated to the Department of Agriculture and Forestry for the Louisiana Equine Promotion and Research Program in accordance with the provisions of R.S. 3:2076 and 2077.
