RS 39:355 - Collection of funds for a third party Any funds that the state, or any of its agencies, collects on behalf of a parent or guardian for child support shall be forwarded to the parent or guardian within ten days of receipt of the funds by the state when the parent or guardian for whom the funds are collected and the specific obligation are clearly identified. In all other cases, the funds shall be forwarded to the parent or guardian within five days after the parent or guardian and the obligation are identified by the state or any of its agencies receiving the funds.
