RS 39:408 - Surplus funds of legislative auditor; remittance and disbursement All sums of money allowed to, deducted or withheld by the legislative auditor, which may exceed his needs and requirements, shall be remitted by the legislative auditor to the governor to be disbursed by him for the purpose of defraying costs of investigation by legislative committees and for the purpose of supporting any and all expenses which may be necessary for the work of the bureau of criminal identification and investigation, for the work of preserving law and order and for the expenses and use of the state militia.
