RS 40:2122 - Purpose The purpose of this law is to provide financial assistance to the parents or guardians of an exceptional child for the cost of room, board, and training or therapy, or both, in a private residential facility for exceptional children when a state owned and operated facility appropriate to the needs of the child does not exist or space therein is not available.
