RS 40:2171 - Definitions As used in this Part: (1) 'Department' means the Louisiana Department of Health. (2) 'Trauma case' means any injured person who has been evaluated by prehospital personnel according to policies and procedures established by the Louisiana Department of Health and who has been found to require transportation to a trauma center. (3) 'Trauma center' means a health care facility which is capable of treating one or more types of potentially seriously injured persons and which has been certified as a trauma center by the Louisiana Department of Health.
