RS 40:629 - Records of interstate shipment A. For the purpose of enforcing the provisions of this Part, carriers engaged in interstate commerce and persons receiving food, drugs, devices, or cosmetics in interstate commerce shall, upon the request in the manner set out below of an officer or employee duly designated by the department, permit the officer or employee to have access to and to copy all records showing the movement in interstate commerce of any food, drug, device, or cosmetic, and the quantity, shipper, and consignee thereof. B. The request provided for in this Section shall be accompanied by a definite statement in writing specifying the nature or kind of food, drug, device, or cosmetic to which it relates. C. Evidence obtained under this Section shall not be used in criminal prosecution of the person from whom obtained. Amended by Acts 1978, No. 786, §5, eff. July 17, 1978.
