RS 40:951 - Definitions For purposes of this Part, a caustic alkali is what is commonly known as concentrated lye. Also, for purposes of this Part, a poison is any substance which, when ingested, inhaled or absorbed, or when applied to or injected into the body in relatively small amounts may, by its chemical action, cause damage to structure or disturbance of function.
