RS 41:462 - Hearing by register On the day fixed for the trial of the contest and in as expeditious a manner as may be consistent with justice the register shall hear the evidence and the arguments, and shall decide the entries, valid or invalid, and shall affirm or cancel them accordingly. The decision shall be final so far as the executive department is concerned, unless an appeal is taken under existing laws. If the entry is invalid and is cancelled, the register shall notify the parties to the contest, or their attorneys.
