RS 42:264 - Penalties Any attorney who knowingly accepts employment and compensation from a parish governing authority, parish school board, levee board, city school board, other local board, or state board or commission, not previously approved by the attorney general, must immediately upon notification thereof return a like dollar amount of funds to the public body which paid such prohibited compensation. Notwithstanding such requirement, the Attorney General may approve the employment and payment of compensation retroactively where the failure to comply with this Section was inadvertent and was in good faith, in which case no return of the fee amount shall be required.
