RS 42:376 - Appointments by governor; withdrawal prior to Senate confirmation; interim appointment prohibited In all cases when the law requires Senate confirmation of a gubernatorial appointment to fill a position in a state, district, parish, ward, or municipal office, or other political subdivision no person who has been appointed by the governor to fill such a position, whose name has been submitted to the Senate for confirmation, and whose name is withdrawn by the governor or who resigns his appointment to the position prior to consideration of his confirmation by the Senate during the legislative session at which his confirmation is to be considered, shall be eligible for an interim appointment to fill the position to which he was previously appointed.
