RS 44:418 - Responsibility for custody, use, and withdrawal of records The state archivist shall be responsible for the custody, use, and withdrawal of records transferred to the division and shall, whenever the usage of any records is subject to statutory limitation and restrictions, then properly enforce such limitations and restrictions. Such limitations and restrictions shall not remain in force or effect after the records have been in existence for fifty years. Other limiting agreements, nonstatutory in nature, established between the division and the donor or donors, shall likewise remain in force for no more than fifty years.
