RS 45:1097.2 - Motor carriers defined; exceptions The provisions of R.S. 45:1097.1-1097.5 shall be construed to apply to any common carrier by motor vehicle as defined in R.S. 45:162(5), any contract carrier by motor vehicle as defined in R.S. 45:162(6), and motor carriers as defined in R.S. 45:162(10), all of which terms are sometimes hereinafter referred to as motor carrier or motor carriers, except to the extent that any of said definitions apply to the transportation of persons or passengers for hire.
