RS 46:1909 - Program planning, development, and evaluation A. The department may collect and analyze data, initiate research, or review research otherwise conducted, and develop comprehensive plans and specific programs for preventing and reducing juvenile delinquency in the state. In this regard, the department may conduct studies and surveys involving delinquency prevention and treatment and make recommendations thereon to the secretary. In addition, the department shall evaluate the effectiveness of existing and proposed programs. B. The department shall assist in developing community services and programs concerned with delinquency prevention, community-based treatment, and constructive communications with law enforcement agencies.
