RS 48:1402 - Authority of commission The commission shall be a political agency of the State of Louisiana, and subject to the limitations and restrictions set out in this Chapter. The commission shall have the following authority: (1) To acquire servitudes adjacent to the Toledo Bend Forest Scenic Drive for the preservation of the natural beauty of said area, but such authority shall not include acquisition of rights-of-way required for the construction of said scenic drive, the acquisition of which shall be within the sole jurisdiction of the Department of Highways. (2) To implement a master plan for the preservation and beautification of the scenic drive area as may be prepared by the Department of Highways and its specialist. (3) To adopt rules and regulations providing for the utilization and administration of the servitudes herein authorized to be acquired. (4) To sue and be sued. Acts 1968, No. 232, §2.
