RS 48:23 - Engineering and other services A. In order to properly discharge its functions, the department may employ engineering, drafting, accounting, legal, and other help and labor, subject to any applicable civil service laws and regulations. B. Notwithstanding any provision of law, or any provision of the department, or any provision of Civil Service to the contrary, the department, at its discretion, may hire persons with disabilities in the position of Bridge Tender I.
