RS 48:266 - Soil erosion control In the construction and maintenance of state highways, the department shall employ appropriate means of preventing or discouraging soil erosion within the limits of the rights of way and may cooperate with official federal agencies in soil conservation programs when those programs are closely related to and in the interest of state highway operation and maintenance.
