RS 48:273 - Placing of distance markers on highways Distance markers, which designate the distances from the point of the marker to the municipality indicated on the marker, shall be placed alongside the highways of this state by the department for incorporated and unincorporated municipalities having a population of five thousand or more persons. The department may place distance markers for incorporated and unincorporated municipalities having a population of less than five thousand persons. The distance markers are to be placed in accordance with regulations promulgated by the Department of Transportation and Development. Added by Acts 1976, No. 276, §1.
