RS 48:387 - Contributions by the Department of Highways to the maintenance of flashing light signals at railroad crossings; conditions The Department of Transportation and Development may, to the extent that the legislature appropriates funds therefor, make payments to railroads, whose railroad grade crossings across state highways are or shall hereafter be marked by the installation of flashing light signals, for not more than one-half the cost of maintenance of such flashing light signals during the fiscal year for which the funds are appropriated.
