RS 48:587 - Proposition to incur additional indebtedness When, subject to the provisions of Title 33, an election is called for the purpose of submitting to the property taxpayers of a parish the question of the assumption by the parish of the indebtedness of any or all of the districts wholly within the parish, the parish governing authority may, at the same election and contingent upon that election carrying, submit to the property taxpayers of the parish qualified to vote in that election a proposition to incur additional indebtedness and issue negotiable bonds therefor for the purpose of constructing, improving, and maintaining the public roads, highways, and bridges of the parish.
