RS 48:942 - Contracts relating to bridges A. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, no state agency, political subdivision of the state nor any board or commission created pursuant to a local services agreement, without prior approval by the legislature, shall enter into any contract which would have the effect of any of the following with respect to any bridge in the state which is greater than five miles in length: (1) Providing for the sale, lease as lessor, transfer, or conveyance of title or any interest in such a bridge. (2) Providing for the transfer of any responsibility for the management, control, or operation of the bridge to any other entity, public or private. B. The provisions of this Section shall not prohibit a public works contract for repair, expansion, maintenance, cleaning, or any other work relating to the physical structure of the bridge and appurtenances nor any contracts for the collection of public tolls for a state agency or political subdivision or services related to such toll collection.
