RS 56:5 - General powers and authority A. The commission, through its director: (1) May sue and be sued; and (2) Shall have and exercise all authority and power as was prescribed by law for the prior commissioner of conservation and the commissioner of wildlife and fisheries in relation to the wildlife of the state, including wild game and nongame quadrupeds or animals, game, oysters, fish, and other aquatic life.
