RS 56:802 - Responsibilities and duties The department shall have the duty and responsibility for the management of resources, including water level control, aquatic weed control, and maintenance and repair of dams, control structures, and spillways within the territorial jurisdiction of each commission established in R.S. 56:801, provided that no local commission or authority is providing these services. The individual game and fish preserves and commissions or local governing authorities shall have the duty and responsibility for maintaining all support services within their territorial jurisdiction, including parks, picnic areas, and concessions.
