RS 6:1229 - Immovable property; dealings A. A savings bank may hold and convey real estate which it has acquired in satisfaction of debts previously contracted bona fide in the course of its business. B. A savings bank may, in accordance with regulations adopted by the commissioner, make a loan or other extension of credit which would otherwise exceed the limits prescribed in R.S. 6:1235 when the purpose of the loan is to finance the sale of real estate acquired for a debt previously contracted or for use as bank premises.
