RS 6:895 - Penalty for doing business without certificate of authority Any person acting for himself or as the agent or representative of any person who does business, solicits, or attempts to do business in this state for any foreign association or their agents that has not procured certificates of authority and public necessity from the commissioner shall be fined not less than one thousand dollars nor more than three thousand dollars, or shall be imprisoned for not less than three months nor more than six months, or both.
