RS 9:2119 - Sale of trust property A trustee may sell trust property unless the sale is forbidden in specific words by the trust instrument or unless it appears from the provisions of the trust instrument that the property is to be retained in kind. A settlor by the provisions of the trust instrument cannot forbid a sale of immovable property for a period beyond fifteen years from his death.
