RS 9:462 - Adult adoption; effective date of adoption Notwithstanding the general provisions of Civil Code Article 214, if the act of adult adoption is filed within five days, exclusive of legal holidays, after the date of the last signature required for validity of the act, the adoption shall be effective as of the date of the last signature.
