RS 9:5534 - Acceleration of maturity date, grounds for The obligation secured by the act of mortgage shall, at the option of the creditor or holder of the mortgage note, forthwith mature and become due and payable and the mortgagee shall be entitled to enforce the collection of the obligation secured by the mortgage immediately and in the manner provided, in any case where the mortgagor shall have committed any of the practices denounced by R.S. 9:5531, R.S. 9:5532, and R.S. 9:5533. These provisions for acceleration of the mortgage debt shall not be construed as excluding the operation of any other statutory provision, or any lawful stipulation between the parties, accelerating the maturity of the obligation secured by the mortgage.
